On June 11, 2026, the IIBSA hosted the Berlin-wide meeting on preventing and combating antisemitism—the first meeting as part of our project “Bundesweiter Transfer: Regionaltreffen zur Antisemitismusprävention und -Bekämpfung” (Nationwide Knowledge Transfer: Regional Meetings on Preventing and Combating Antisemitism). More than 40 stakeholders in the fight against antisemitism participated—including representatives from city districts and universities, reporting and counseling centers, student groups, Jewish and non-Jewish civil society organizations, as well as activists working against antisemitism in various sectors of society.
The discussion focused on regional challenges and potential solutions in context of international and national developments and campaigns. Another key focus was on the possibility of applying approaches to combating and preventing antisemitism across regions.
Together with Dr. Felix Klein, the Federal Government Commissioner for Jewish Life in Germany and the Fight Against Antisemitism, we discussed starting points, opportunities for knowledge transfer, problem areas, and gaps in the prevention and combating of antisemitism.
