Last week, the international Research Network “Ethnic Relations, Racism and Antisemitism” held its conference activities in Warsaw, featuring more than 60 presentations across 17 sessions. Researchers from across Europe, Israel, and North America participated in the Research Network’s activities as part of the 17th Conference of the European Sociological Association.
Research Network 31 covered a wide range of topics related to the conference theme, “Strengthening Democracies: Social Action, Solidarity, and Sustainable Futures.” The sessions aimed to better understand and critically examine phenomena such as authoritarian tendencies, the rise of the (new) far right, Israel-related antisemitism after October 7, conspiracy narratives and left-wing anti-Zionism, as well as racism and anti-Roma racism from an academic perspective.
The Research Network is coordinated by Dr. Kim Robin Stoller (IIBSA) and Dr. Elke Rajal (University of Passau).
