Regional Meeting in Hamburg on Preventing and Combating Antisemitism

Preventing and combating antisemitism touches on many different areas of social life: whether it be education, sports, culture, higher education, or politics.
We discussed this with numerous stakeholders from Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein, and the surrounding area at the regional meeting in Hamburg on September 3, 2026, and worked on concrete approaches.

The project „Bundesweiter Transfer: Regionaltreffen zur Antisemitismusprävention und -Bekämpfung“ (Nationwide Knowledge Transfer: Regional Meetings on Preventing and Combating Antisemitism) brings together Jewish and non-Jewish activists working to combat antisemitism from civil society organizations, initiatives, Jewish communities, and associations.

Stefanie Szczupak outlined the problems, needs, and potential solutions from the perspective of the Jewish community.
Mattan Kapon discussed the perspectives and ideas of the Israeli community in Hamburg.

Saskia Pause presented the program of the new Commissioner for Jewish Life and the Combating and Prevention of Antisemitism. Stakeholders from various sectors of civil society laid the groundwork for joint approaches and next steps.

We would like to thank all the participants for their excellent and productive collaboration.
