The International Institute for Education and Research on Antisemitism (IIBSA) and the Institute for the Study of Contemporary Antisemitism at Indiana University are organizing an important conference entitled “Antisemitism after 7 October”. The event will take place on Friday, July 5, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Berlin-Mitte (near the U-Bahn station “Naturkundemuseum”).

The event is organized in cooperation with the Chair of Sociology at the University of Passau, the London Centre for the Study of Contemporary Antisemitism, and the Spanish Research Council (CSIC), and is supported by the Amadeu Antonio Foundation.

The conference aims to address the resurgence of antisemitism in the wake of recent global events. The conference will feature a series of sessions led by prominent scholars and researchers, including Alejandro Baer, David Hirsh, Günther Jikeli, Karin Stögner and Kim Robin Stoller. The conference will explore various dimensions of antisemitism, including the resurgence of antisemitism in the 21st century, feminist critical theory after October 7, the historical evolution of antisemitism from events such as the Gaza flotilla and BDS to October 7, and the complex relationship between the UN and Israel. Sessions will also address the role of social media post-October 7 and specific case studies such as antisemitism in Spain.
